The Breaking Winds have performed for students at all levels, from preschool to graduate school.

No matter what level they perform for, the BWBQ seeks to engage their audience in novel ways, whether that be via dancing, skits, conversations, or jokes.

The group firmly believes that music as a method of communication requires interaction, not just passive listening.

Performances typically include the following:

*A broad range of genres and compositional

  periods

*High-energy playing and movement around the

performance space (including in the audience!)

*Discussion of composing and arranging, teamwork

in chamber music, and tools for music learning

*Group activities (students are asked to create part

of the piece via clapping, chanting, and more)

* Audience member interaction (volunteer students

are asked to act out part of the piece, play

  percussion, or receive a serenade!)

*Question-and-answer period
