Lauren Yu, of Buffalo, New York, is currently pursuing a MM degree in Bassoon Performance at the Yale School of Music in the studio of Frank Morelli. In May 2011, she graduated from the Eastman School of Music with a BM in Bassoon Performance and Music Education, as well as a BA in Mathematics from the University of Rochester. Lauren has had the opportunity to participate in summer programs including Sarasota Music Festival, Youth Orchestra of the Americas, The Banff Centre for the Arts, Domaine Forget Music Academy and Eastern Music Festival. She has had the privilege to study under: John Hunt, Glenn Einschlag, Robin Leech Parkinson, and has performed in master classes under: Stéphane Lévesque, Christopher Millard, Gustavo Núñez, Whitney Crockett and David VanHoesen.
In addition to performing, Lauren enjoys arranging for the Breaking Winds Bassoon Quartet and has had her music published through TrevCo Music Publishing.
